Our Stock We are lovers and collectors of vintage homewares and furniture – with a specific leaning towards the 1950's and 1960's. Guess we carry a mix of 'mid-century' and 'Scandinavian-modern' styles. Our main criteria is good design – innovative, attractive and well-made consumer goods of the 20th century. We carry a mix of locally-made pieces and extra-special things sourced from Sweden. We enjoy doing what we can to restore and refurbish our things – to get them performing at their best without expecting them to become 'brand-new'. What you are looking at on our site is (with very few exceptions) vintage – our stock is not brand-new – please look at the photos and read the descriptions, as we will mention any faults beyond what could be considered normal 'wear-and-tear'. Vintage & Custom Items We describe all vintage items via our photos and in our texts, as accurately as possible. If you have any concerns or queries about a particular item or it's details, please use the 'REQUEST MORE INFO' button on the item's page. We are very happy to provide you with more information, to make sure that you get exactly what you expect from your ordered item(s). All sales on vintage and custom items are final (we do not offer refunds for change of mind). The shop is pretty small, so much of what we have available for sale will not be on display in the store … in-store stock changes frequently, so do pop in if you're in the area. If there's something on the website you would like to inspect personally, then do get in touch with us to organize a time – we're happy to bring things in from storage by arrangement. ![]() Within Melbourne (and, by arrangement the Bendigo area) we can arrange delivery on larger items. Contact us to discuss. Shipping - GeneralWherever possible (ie – where size permits), we will ship your order via Australia Post. If you have an account with another carrier and would prefer to use their service, let us know and we will do our best to oblige. The shipping costs which appear with our shopping cart represent standard postage and packaging costs calculated by weight. When you order multiple items at the same time, we are happy to pack them together to obtain a more economical shipping charge ... For larger items – furniture, artworks etc – we use the services of several carriers, specializing in different parts of Australia. If there's a piece you are interested in, it's always worth contacting us to organize a quote for delivery to your place. Please note that customers are responsible for all international custom and duty fees. These are in addition to, and not included in, the cost of shipping. As a business we are obligated to declare all items as merchandise ... we cannot mark items as 'gift' or under-declare their value. We do not have a 'standard' shipper for international orders on large items (furniture etc), but we will endeavour to obtain a competitive price from a reputable carrier. We are also very happy for you to nominate a shipper of your choice, and obtain a quote. Shipping - Transit & Insurance Once an order is given to a shipping carrier, the package then becomes that carrier's responsibility. If you would like to include insurance on your order, please contact us directly. ![]() If you mistakenly provided us with an incorrect or insufficient address or would like to cancel your order, please contact us immediately with the corrected information. If your order has not yet shipped, we will correct it immediately with no problem. If your order has already been shipped, we will have to wait until delivery is attempted and then returned back to us before we can change the address or provide you with a refund - please note that original shipping charges are non-refundable and additional shipping charges will incur for reshipment. In the case where a package is refused and shipped back to us, the customer will be responsible for the original shipping charges. Whatever the case – please contact us to work it out! Privacy Policy Your personal information and details provided are only used for the services requested, such as processing an order and shipping your package to your address. We promise to respect your privacy, and will never distribute your name, email or other details. ![]() We accept Visa and Mastercard credit card payment as well as PayPal. If you feel uncomfortable entering details on the internet, you can always contact us to make a card transaction over the phone. PayPal is an easy and secure payment system if you are concerned about credit card security. If you are collecting your order from the shop, or having us deliver your goods personally, we also accept CASH. We are also happy to accept payment by personal cheque, or by Direct Bank Deposit (goods will be shipped only once payment clears) … contact us to arrange. Credit Card Security Our site's secured socket layer (SSL) uses the latest, industry-standard 256-bit encryption technology to ensure that your personal details (especially your name, address and credit card number) stay safe, and cannot be read or intercepted as they travels to our payment processing system. Look for the 'https://' in the address bar of your browser when you checkout - the 's' stands for 'secure'. Our security certificate can be viewed by double-clicking the little padlock icon at the bottom of your browser window. Your details are encrypted, digitally shredded and destroyed as soon as payment is processed. Returns & Exchanges As nearly all of our stock is vintage, we do not accept returns unless the item you receive is substantially not as described on the website. On vintage stock we do not provide refunds or cash back unless the item is not as described on the site. Please make sure to open and inspect your order within 48 hours of receipt, and contact us if there is a problem - as any claims cannot be made thereafter. Please note that sale items or items purchased using a discount code are issued an exchange or store credit only. All returned items must be returned in original, sealable and unused condition with the original packing materials. Please make sure that items are well packed (additional packaging may be necessary) and insured for their full value. A restocking fee may apply to any order not received in good condition. Shipping cost are non-refundable and all costs for return shipment are the responsibility of the customer. To make a return or exchange, you will need a Return Code number. To obtain this, please email us and include your order number and a list of the item(s) you are returning in the body of the message, along with your reason for wanting to return your item(s). We'll then reply back with your RC number, which you'll need to include in the address field of your package. This RC number is very important to ensure proper tracking and handling of returned goods. Please don't return any product(s) until you have received an RC number, as they may not be properly processed. Please address your return to: Upon receipt of the item we will contact you by email to confirm your website/ store credit. Please reference your RC number when contacting us to check on the status of your return. ![]() All items sold in Australia are subject to GST. This charge is included in the listed price of all items we sell to Australian customers – there won't be an extra 10% added to your total. Out Of Stock Items In the rare case of an item on the website not being available at the time of your order, we will immediately refund any payment, and contact you to let you know. If you are specifically seeking an item that you see on our SOLD page, do let us know – it may be something that we can source for you.
