Mogensen daybed
substantial convertible sofa
des. Børge Mogensen
Frederica Stolefabrik - Denmark - model #192
With a simple and clean frame of solid blonde oak timber, this daybed is nice and light on the eye. The 2-tone blue wool upholstery is a nice counterpoint to the honey-toned wood.
A generous 4-seater sofa, which serves as a handy guest bed with back cushions removed. The seat and back cushions are fully sprung, supportive and comfortable.
Mogensen (1914-1972) was prolific, and stands alongside Arne Jacobsen and Hans Wegner as responsible for bringing 'Danish modern' to the world. This piece dates from the early 1960's.
This piece is in very good vintage condition. The woodwork shows it's age but is undamaged - just light surface wear to the varnish. Upholstery in excellent condition. A nice example of a piece seldom seen in the southern hemisphere.
